Hi, I’m Abby, your host and creator of the AnthroPuzzled Podcast!

I graduated from the University of West Florida with degrees in Business Management and Cultural Anthropology and am an anthropology enthusiast and aspiring world traveler. My passion for exploring cultures began during a study abroad experience in Switzerland and has continued through travel, languages, documentaries, and, of course, anthropology.

After graduation, I found myself at a crossroads, wondering how to bring my interests in culture, travel, and business together into a fulfilling career. As I searched for answers, I realized I wasn’t the only anthropology graduate asking, “What can I actually do with this degree?”

That question inspired AnthroPuzzled, a podcast created to explore the unexpected career paths anthropology can open up and help others discover where their degree might take them.

    INTERN

    My name is Niyat Ogbazghi, and I have a Master’s degree in Anthropology.  I love conducting ethnographic research in diasporic communities and studying their people’s way of life.   I enjoy analyzing their behaviors, interactions, shared values, and the social organization of their communities. Cultural anthropology is my favorite discipline, and I am grateful to intern for the AnthroPuzzled podcast and contribute to the Anthropology community.

    My name is Beamlak Getahun, and I have a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology. I am interested in culture, everyday life, and the different ways people live, make meaning, and understand their world. I particularly enjoy exploring and documenting Ethiopian lifeways through research and visual storytelling. I am excited to intern with the AnthroPuzzled podcast, learn from its community, and contribute to conversations around anthropology and the people it seeks to understand.

  • Cayetana Balbuena

    INTERN

    My name is Cayetana Balbuena. I'm a Social and Cultural Anthropologist from Lima-Peru, holding a Master's degree in History and Anthropology of the Americas. I integrate historiographical research with social anthropology methodologies, with my primary areas of interest being Symbolic and Digital Anthropology, all approached through an intersectional and decolonial lens. I'm delighted to be part of the AnthroPuzzled team and to learn not only from my tasks, but also from the great professionals I will be working alongside.

  • Emily Harris‑Taylor

    INTERN

    My name is Emily Harris‑Taylor, and I am an archaeologist in training with a background in forensic archaeology, osteology, and Viking Age studies. I hold an MLitt in Viking Studies and am completing an MLitt in Archaeological Studies before beginning my PhD in early medieval Scottish burial archaeology in January 2027. I am especially interested in material culture, mortuary archaeology, and how objects and landscapes shape our understanding of past societies. I’m delighted to intern with AnthroPuzzled and contribute to accessible, engaging conversations in archaeology and anthropology.

  • Tuğba Nur Karadeniz

    INTERN

    My name is Tuğba Nur Karadeniz, and I am in the final year of my anthropology degree. I have studied both biological and social anthropology, and I currently focus on social anthropology. Alongside my studies, I am actively involved in civil society projects. I am particularly interested in digital anthropology, business anthropology, and semiotics. I am excited to join the AnthroPuzzled team and to help share anthropologists' experiences with a wider audience.
